Description

Pay-TV Scramblers with common IP input COD912ASI, COD912MSL are multifunctional servers for digital television services. They are designed to work in digital broadcasting DVB and IPTV networks, for organizing a system of paid access to watching digital TV programs and for multichannel digital TV broadcasting. The COD912MSL scrambler is a modification of the COD912ASI scrambler with a QPSK modulator at the output.

They can perform the following functions:

  • DVB scrambler and CAS Crypton service information generator
  • EPG, NIT, TOT, TDT injector
  • DVB-S modulator (COD912MSL only)

Features

  • Editing service information. The device provides a standard service information editing function for such devices, which provides additional flexibility when creating a new multi-program transport stream.
  • ASI-interface. The transport stream from various sources (for example, IRD using multiPID CAM-module, DVB-multiplexer, etc.) goes to the ASI input of the device. The maximum number of programs in an input MPEG2 multi-program transport stream should not exceed 32. They can be processed in accordance with a particular problem being solved. To preserve the quality characteristics of the input stream in the output stream, the device provides PCR, DTS and PTS correction.
  • DVB support NIT/EPG. COD912ASI can support DVB NIT, EPG, TOT, TDT provided this option is activated in the downloaded software. The NIT and EPG subsystem implemented in these devices fully complies with the DVB specification and can be received on any subscriber receivers that support these functions.
  • For COD912MSL device only: QPSK modulator and ASI output. DVB ASI output complies with EN50083-9 specification. In addition to DVB ASI output, the device has an additional - DVB-S modulator, which is tunable in the range of 950-1750 MHz or 1450-1950 MHz (depending on the modulator version). For СOD912MSL, there are two modes of ASI output operation: “independent” (modulator is not used) and “synchronous” (ASI output works in conjunction with the modulator). At the same time, all standard ASI operation modes are supported in the "independent" mode: "byte/packet", "188/204 bytes". In synchronous mode - only "burst" "188/204 bytes".
  • DVB scrambler CAS Crypton. DVB scrambler and CAS Crypton service information generator allow COD912ASI to be used to provide conditional access in digital television broadcasting network — encryption TV. At the same time, it is important to note the high reliability of information protection due to the autonomy of this service in each individual device in full compliance with the DVB-CAS requirements. 24 programs can be organized into 8 coding groups, each of which has its own independent scrambling key and a list of subscribers who are allowed to view at a given time.
  • EPG injector. The EPG injector allows you to add additional network information and an electronic version of the TV guide for 24 programs for 7 days into the transport stream. The schedule is loaded from the operator's workplace using a computer via an active TCP/IP connection.
  • Control. The network of devices is controlled from the operator's personal computer, on which the software package "Crypton Software Suite" is installed via an active TCP/IP connection.
  • Reloadable software. For COD912ASI, COD912MSL, software replacement capability is provided. Downloading a new version of the software is carried out using the corresponding function of the DTV Master program and the previously received program code and license key.

Brief description of the main blocks

  • ASI INPUT I/F. The device uses DVB ASI interface according to EN 50083-9 as input and output interface for digital transport stream transmission. All major modes are supported: "byte/batch", "188/204 byte". ASI inputs detect the source mode automatically. ASI output can be configured arbitrarily.
  • DVB multiplexer is used in the device to provide functions for the introduction of additional service information in accordance with EN 300468, as well as the resulting change in the output flow rate.
  • DVB SCRAMBLER used in the device is DVB-compatible and complies with the DVB-CAS ETR-289 specification. It selectively scrapes digital TV programs. The main purpose of scrambling is to exclude unauthorized viewing of television programs.
  • CAS CRYPTON SMS GENERATOR. The generator of service information of the CAS Crypton conditional access system from the lists of subscribers for each coding group generates the necessary SMS messages necessary for the subscriber receiver to provide authorized access to certain resources of the digital television network. All 24 programs can be organized into a maximum of 8 independent coding groups, each of which is encoded with its own key and has its own list of subscribers who are allowed to view at the current time.
  • DVB SI INJECTOR. The service information injector is designed to embed service tables such as NIT, EIT (EPG), TOT, etc. into the transport stream.
  • Device control. The main task of the control module is to ensure effective device management from the broadcasting network operator's workstation with the Crypton Software Suite installed on it.
  • QPSK modulator (COD912MSL only). In addition to the ASI output, this device is also equipped with a QPSK modulator, which is tunable in the range of 950-1750 MHz or 1450-1950 MHz (depending on the version of the modulator). For COD982MSL, there are two modes of ASI output operation: "independent" (modulator is not used) and "synchronous" (ASI output works in conjunction with the modulator). At the same time, all standard ASI modes are supported in "independent mode.
