SMART Cards

For television operators, Crypton manufactures subscriber contact SMART cards. Contact positions and card exchange interface are in accordance with ISO-7816 standard. The size is 85.5 * 54mm, 0.86 ± 0.04mm. Each TV company generates its own unique set of keys that are embedded in the scrambler and SMART cards. Thanks to this, the smart card "understands" only "its" TV company.

The smart card is inserted into the card reader of the subscriber receiver. To view the programs, the subscriber receiver, firstly, must have a card reader, and secondly, it must have the appropriate software. The software is standard in the sense of using the Common Scrambling Algorithm, but at the same time it is unique considering the specifics of the scrambling system. This specific part fits easily into any receiver, but this must be done by the receiver manufacturer!

Crypton takes an open position regarding the integration of CAS Crypton into subscriber equipment - we will provide any manufacturer of any receiver with the necessary technical information and provide technical support. At this point, almost all receiver manufacturers have experience with Crypton and can supply a batch of receivers.
